John P Chandler, MD

 

Dr. John P. Chandler is a highly experienced cardiologist who has been in practice for more than 35 years and has been with Connecticut Heart Group since 1993. A native of New Jersey, he attended medical school at the Universite de Montpellier in France before returning to the United States where he completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Chandler is a pioneering cardiologist, having performed the first coronary angioplasty in New Haven. He also developed a temporary pacemaker for pacing the heart in an emergency. He has served as director of the coronary care unit and catheterization laboratory at the Hospital of St. Raphael. Despite his accomplishments, Dr. Chandler remains a compassionate and thoughtful physician who enjoys the one-on-one interactions with his patients. He is a member of the American Heart Association and American College of Physicians and sees patients in our Branford and Hamden offices.
